Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best well-known for her character of detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her performances on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive from the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. Although she was a child with a goal of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until the time of her high school days when Delaney started modeling. Following her move from New York City and gaining experience with commercials in New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. In her teens, her first role as an actor was on the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Delaney is well-known as an actress who has been featured in a variety of TV movies, and dramas. Her personal life unlike her professional life hasn't been a success and has not been happy. The talented actress was afflicted with alcoholism in the past as well as two divorces.
